15:03 < mmcgrath> Ok, so AFAIK we're just going to use the storage we have.
15:03 < paulobanon> which is ?
15:04 < mmcgrath> local storage on individual boxes.
15:04 < paulobanon> cant we ebay something :P
15:04 < mmcgrath> We have one semi-large storage place, but storage is temporary until April. we'll have more then.
15:04 < mmcgrath> dgilmore's got some stuff in mind for cert based auth.
15:04 < paulobanon> :) great
15:04 < mmcgrath> AFAIK thats our major blocker right now.
15:04 < mmcgrath> So we'll move on to the package database.
15:05 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: whats the word?
15:05 < abadger1999> there's been some discussion about AWOL/orphan policy that resulted from last week's meeting.
15:05 < mmcgrath> mhmm
15:05 < abadger1999> At the moment, I think it's not going to change what's currently there.
15:06 < dgilmore> mmcgrath: pong
15:06 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: So whats your thoughts on when this can/should go live?
15:06 * mmcgrath waves at dgilmore
15:06 < f13> I'm here, in another meeting too.
15:07 < abadger1999> The list from last week of stuff doesn't look too heard. Maybe two weeks to be testable.
15:08 < abadger1999> but there's also importing the new owners.list/owners.epel/acls.
15:08 < abadger1999> I was hopign to get someone in Extras or notting interested in doing that but so far no takers.
15:08 -!- rordway|m [n=rordway|@128-193-136-26.public.oregonstate.edu] has joined #fedora-admin
15:08 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: Its converting a text file into the db?
15:09 < abadger1999> Yes. And most of the work is done.
15:09 < abadger1999> But there have been changes since I wrote the original improter so it needs to be updated.
15:09 < rordway|m> anyone know of a good OS X IRC client?
15:09 < abadger1999> AndI haven't looked at pulling acls at all.
15:10 < skvidal> rordway|m: fedora ppc
15:10 < abadger1999> notting says he wrote the acl stuff in a modular fashion but I haven't looked.
15:10 < skvidal> rordway|m: oh, wait, sorry ;)
15:10 < mmcgrath> k
15:10 < rordway|m> it's a Macbook Pro, Fedora/i386 works just fine
15:10 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: Try pinging the infrastructure list. You might have some takers.
15:10 < abadger1999> k.
15:10 < f13> rordway|m: irssi.
15:11 < f13> rordway|m: or ssh to a shell with irssi
15:11 < mmcgrath> guys...
15:11 < f13> yes?
15:11 < rordway|m> mmcgrath: sorry :-)
15:11 < daMaestro> what? are we like having a meeting or something?
15:11 < mmcgrath> no problem
15:11 < paulobanon> :D
15:11 < daMaestro> >;)
15:12 < mmcgrath> Ok, next up.
15:12 < mmcgrath> VCS choice.
15:13 < mmcgrath> still on hold AFAIK. the sig has floundered a bit.
15:13 < mmcgrath> lmacken: still around?
15:13 < lmacken> yup yup
15:13 < lmacken> Ok, quickstyle update (cause I've gotta book in a sec).
15:13 < lmacken> Firewall stuff: Mike and I talked at FUDCon about this; I said that I could deploy pyroman tonight if we wanted, but I don't think it curr
ently achieves our goals. So what are our goals? Well, I have a few in mind (ease of {configuration, deployment, sustainment}), and pyroman only takes care of the first. I have been looking into other viable solutions recently, and plan on trying to get this ball rolling next week. I'll send more details to the
15:13 < lmacken> Updates: haven't touched bodhi in over a week, due to school. John Polestra layed out some great flowcharts which are helping solidify some of the process,
15:13 < lmacken> bodhi will be my top priority next week
15:14 < mmcgrath> solid
15:14 < paulobanon> lmacken: send more details to the "list" ?
15:14 < lmacken> paulobanon: fedora-infra-list
15:14 < paulobanon> :) looking forward for it
15:15 < mmcgrath> Alrighty, next item the wiki upgrade.
15:15 < mmcgrath> Its.. uhh... upgraded.
15:15 < paulobanon> :D pass to Done
15:15 < paulobanon> :P
15:15 < mmcgrath> Still some issues with the theme, none of the website guys seemed to care.
15:15 * lmacken &
15:15 < f13> mmcgrath: I'd like to seperate the idea of package SCM from other SCMs withinthe SCM sig
15:15 < mmcgrath> There's been a few other bugs here and there.
15:15 < paulobanon> mmcgrath: point them to WikiMigration
15:16 < f13> the SCM sig was sort of created to think up grand ideas around package SCM and how that whole thing workflows.
15:16 < mmcgrath> f13: agreed.
15:16 < paulobanon> lets try to keep everything on a central point
15:16 -!- rordway|m [n=rordway|@128-193-136-26.public.oregonstate.edu] has left #fedora-admin []
15:16 < abadger1999> f13: +1
15:16 < mmcgrath> I'm pretty sure at this point that we as a group will be offering SVN, HG and Git
15:16 < mmcgrath> But what fedora uses for packaging is a whole other thing, and thats what we care about.
15:16 < f13> mmcgrath: somebody has to dothe work to make SVN available (:
15:17 < mmcgrath> I can do that, I'm pretty comfortable with SVN.
15:17 < paulobanon> f13: svn deployment?
15:17 -!- warren [n=warren@redhat/wombat/warren] has quit ["Leaving"]
15:17 < mmcgrath> does hosted not talk to svn right now?
15:17 < f13> paulobanon: svn as an available scm for hosted projects.
15:17 < mmcgrath> paulobanon: Yeah, for hosted.
15:17 < skvidal> does anyone sane even like svn? ;)
15:17 < f13> mmcgrath: I don't know of a public svn repo.
15:17 * skvidal runs from mmcgrath
15:17 < f13> skvidal: mmcgrath does.
15:17 * mmcgrath think's hes sane
15:17 < skvidal> f13: like I said...
15:17 < paulobanon> lol
15:17 * mmcgrath 's image in the mirror does not.
15:18 < dgilmore> mmcgrath: but the image is evil
15:18 < mmcgrath> we'll get back to hosted in a bit.
15:18 < poelcat> lmacken: glad to make updates... let me know if I can help
15:18 < dgilmore> i dont mind svn
15:18 < mmcgrath> so config management. Puppet. has anyone looked at puppet? Does anyone care :-D
15:18 < paulobanon> i do care
15:18 < skvidal> I looked at it
15:18 * mmcgrath knows many would prefer to get rid of the ruby dep.
15:18 < paulobanon> but no time to look
15:18 < skvidal> I said 'meh'
15:18 < skvidal> but the capability seems fine
15:18 < mmcgrath> agreed. I think its better than what we have and will suit our needs.
15:19 < skvidal> closed->worksforme
15:19 < paulobanon> mmcgrath: gonna try to deploy it in my lab at work, so u'll hear from me in a few days/weeks
15:19 * mmcgrath notes its so foggy in Chicago right now that he can't see the building across the street.
15:19 < mmcgrath> paulobanon: solid
15:19 < mmcgrath> I'll give everyone one more week and if I haven't heard anything either way, I'm going to begin deploying it on the other machines.
15:20 < mmcgrath> Next item: metrics.
15:20 < mmcgrath> I've been focusing a lot on smolt over the last couple of days.
15:20 < mmcgrath> Turns out there's a lot of back-end stuff I need to change but its there and coming.
15:20 < mmcgrath> I did some major upgrades to the web interface. Hurray tabs.
15:20 < mmcgrath> Next, Postfix.
15:21 < mmcgrath> This one's touchy but I'm just going to make the call to implement it. If someone inside RH has an issue, I'll deal with it.
15:21 < mmcgrath> I've been trying to implement better spam protection in OTRS but it seems to be ignoring what I'm telling it to do.
15:21 * mmcgrath just realized something about that.
15:21 < mmcgrath> Anyway.
15:21 < mmcgrath> f13: Hosted.
15:22 < mmcgrath> Whats your thought on how to proceed from here? Just wait till we get the storage?
15:22 < skvidal> mmcgrath: umm
15:22 < skvidal> about postfix
15:22 < skvidal> if we start using the mailserver
15:23 < skvidal> and people rely on it
15:23 < skvidal> and legal says 'pull it, we can't have it up'
15:23 < skvidal> then people will lose important info
15:23 < mmcgrath> skvidal: They can say that now.
15:23 < f13> mmcgrath: yeah, storage, and potentially systems.
15:23 < skvidal> mmcgrath: right but no one relies on it now
15:23 < f13> mmcgrath: I owe you a roadmap, I haven't gotten it done yet.
15:23 < f13> I suck.
15:23 < mmcgrath> Ahh, I see your point.
15:23 < skvidal> f13: and you dress your kid up funny, too
15:24 < mmcgrath> I'll ping again, and be more direct this time.
15:24 < mmcgrath> Actually wait.
15:24 < mmcgrath> If they say pull it, then we'll just move everything back to RH where it is now right?
15:25 < paulobanon> mmcgrath: why would legal say that ?
15:25 < skvidal> paulobanon: for legal reasons
15:26 < mmcgrath> paulobanon: Its best not to guess what legal will or won't do.
15:26 < skvidal> mmcgrath: if we make a bunch of mailing lists, for example
15:26 < skvidal> mmcgrath: and then we are told to pull them
15:26 < skvidal> will we be able to get them setup at rH?
15:27 < mmcgrath> skvidal: I'll fight that battle.
15:27 < skvidal> okay
15:27 < skvidal> that was my only concern, then.
15:27 < skvidal> thanks for listening
15:27 < mmcgrath> The situation as I understand it is that legal has no idea what is going on with it and don't care.
15:27 < mmcgrath> I'll send one more email and if I still hear nothing then I'll deal.
15:28 < skvidal> ok, cool
15:28 < skvidal> f13: is this you?
15:28 < skvidal> ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
15:28 < mmcgrath> Next up, mirrors.
15:28 < skvidal> <gitpyrpm-administrators@fedoraproject.org>
15:28 < skvidal> (reason: 550 5.1.1 <gitpyrpm-administrators@fedoraproject.org>... User unknown)
15:28 < mmcgrath> mdomsch: ping
15:29 < mmcgrath> We'll skip that for now.
15:29 < mmcgrath> and kim0 isn't here for the delta rpm stuff.
15:29 < mmcgrath> And with that, I open the floor. Anyone have anything?
15:29 -!- mdehaan [i=mdehaan@nat/redhat/x-53fb47e5afe2f8a6] has quit [Remote closed the connection]
15:30 < mmcgrath> Alllrighty, thats all I've got then
15:30 < mmcgrath> ========== MEETING END ======
