< Anaconda‎ | UX Redesign

Revision as of 18:36, 15 January 2013 by Smanuel16 (talk | contribs)

This is the first draft of the usability test scripts we will be using when testing the users. We will be testing a total of 8 users (4 novice users and 4 professional/experienced linux users). The type of users we'd like to test are as follows:

  1. Novice users who may be new to linux who just want to install a desktop system
  2. Experienced linux users who may dabble in system administration, are very technical, and like trying out different technologies
  3. Professional system administrators who work with advanced storage devices and configurations, typically on the job, not for fun

The 5 use cases we will be testing are:

  1. Non-English/US Install
  2. Dual Boot Install
  3. Customized LVM Install
  4. Customized RAID Install
  5. Preserve /home directory

Introduction

[Monitor off, Video off, Computer reset]

Hi, welcome, and thank you for coming. How are you doing today?

I'm ____________ and I'm helping Fedora how well their installation program, called Anaconda, works for the people who are its audience. This is ____________ who will be observing what we're doing today. We've brought you here to see what you think of their program; what seems to work for you, what doesn't, and so on. This evaluation should take about 30-35 minutes.
