Asana Math font

Description

The Asana-Math OpenType font includes almost all mathematical symbols included in the latest version of Unicode. In addition, it includes a MATH OpenType table so as to be useful for the typesetting of mathematical text. Its output is comparable to the output produced with Cambria Math.

The font is not finished yet, but it is released in the hope that people will use it, discover bugs and report them back to the author.

pxfonts was used as a basis for the design of most glyphs.

Caveats

  1. nicely versioned font file
  2. however upstream needs to be convinced to do proper releases (versioned archive with license file and readme, or even fontforge and xgridfit files with Makefile)
  3. add a fontconfig ruleset to register Asana Math as a substitute for pxfonts and other fonts that were reused in Asana Math - done for pxfonts
