According to its succession planning document, it is time the next round of Fedora Board elections to take place. The Fedora Board currently appoints 4 of its 9 seats, and elects 5 of the 9, on a rotating basis.
This election (November/December 2009), the Board will elect 2 seats for a full two-release term.

Summary
- Voting is open to all Fedora contributors who have a valid account in the Fedora Account System and have completed the Fedora CLA.
- Voting uses the range voting style of voting.
- The three top vote receivers will become members of the Fedora Project Board for a full two-release term.
- Future elections are held in accordance with our succession planning policy.
- We are using the Fedora standard voting software, used recently in other Fedora elections.

Candidates
Candidates may be anyone who is in the Fedora Account System and has completed the Fedora CLA. To be nominated, you must have a page within the nominations section of the Fedora wiki, and it should include a brief (500 words or less) statement of purpose, vision, goals, etc.
The Board should publish, at the time nominations open, a statement of those issues on which it has worked since the last elections, and some of the issues still at hand, subject to the normal restrictions of privacy, privilege, or other sensitivities. Typically there are a number of issues that have no such restrictions.
Voters
Voters may be anyone who is in the Fedora Accounts System and has completed the Fedora CLA.
Range Voting
The voting system being used for this election is known as range voting. Voters cast a number of votes for each candidate, from zero up to the number of candidates. If there are seven candidates, voters may cast from zero to seven votes for each candidate.
