Fedora Free Media Program is a volunteer initiative under Fedora Distribution Project that aims to distribute Fedora Media (DVDs) for free to individuals who can't afford to buy or download. Local Fedora Ambassadors or Contributors are invited to participate for ensuring easy availability of Fedora. If you have any question about this, please contact Susmit Shannigrahi

Request Freemedia

  • You can request for fedora Freemedia here

Policy

  • One media per person per release + source media if requested.
  • Any duplicate requests will be cancelled.
  • If you're a Fedora Ambassador or Fedora Contributor, you will not receive any DVD via this program.
  • Please note this is a volunteer initiative by local Fedora Ambassadors or Contributors.
  • Please note we can't ship media to U.S. embargoed or restricted destinations. See Fedora Export Control Product Matrix
  • Per Fedora Project Board's recommendation , physical media with source code is available upon request.
  • For more information, visit Fedora Free Media Program Information page.

Join

  • Do you have a DVD burner?
  • Have you downloaded the latest Fedora binary and source ISO images?
  • Can you accept at least two media requests per month?

If you answered yes to all of your above questions, there are only three steps to join

  1. Please make sure your personal wiki page is in place with your contact details. You can find out the template here.
  2. Apply for "freemedia" group via Fedora Account System first. (Please make sure to include Country Code in your FAS profile)
  3. Subscribe to Fedora Free Media Program Mailing List and wait for an approval. If you don't apply for 'freemedia' group in FAS first, your subscription to the list will be rejected!

If you have any question, please contact ThomasChung or Susmit.

We appreciate all of the support and interest we have received so far, and we hope that more volunteers will step forward to help us increase our capacity and accept a larger number of requests.
