Diversity Cases

We are currently working on a draft lists of old cases and demo cases to start developing policies and rules to provide a better assistance to those who have been affected by any kind of harassment, bullying or other behavior non-friendly inside the community. If you are experiencing something similar to the listed or feel uncomfortable at the community, do not hesitate to contact the Diversity Advisory or any member from the Diversity Team ASAP.

The list of reported issues at diverse communities have been [alarmingly] on the last years, this is why we want to encourage at Fedora a Friendly and Healthy environment for all our contributors.

  • Verbal or Cyberbullying: it's bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Examples of cyberbullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles. It includes teasing, Name-calling, Inappropriate sexual comments, Taunting or threatening to cause harm. This king of social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships, Telling others not to be friends with someone, Spreading rumors about someone or Embarrassing someone in public.
  • Physical Bullying: this involves hurting a person’s body or possessions, either Hitting/kicking/pinching, Spitting, Tripping/pushing, Taking or breaking someone’s things or Making mean or rude hand gestures.
  • Harassment: Once a subject is in the eye of the target, this can deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following, Harassing photography or recording, Sustained disruption of talks or other events, Inappropriate physical contact or get Unwelcome sexual attention
