Beat is open
This beat is now ready to have Fedora 25 content added by the beat writer

Input methods

  • ibus-libzhuyin is a new Zhuyin input method for Traditional Chinese users, still in development, preview only.
  • If you want to use non-ibus as Input Method, follow the steps at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/I18N/InputMethods#How_to_use_non-ibus_input_methods_on_GNOME.
  • ibus "ibus reset-config" sub-command is to reset the user setting values to default ones in an ibus configuration but not ibus engines configurations. "ibus read-config" sub-command is to show the current settings values. The usage of reset-config is to:
    • clean up the ibus settings for the troubleshooting.
    • switch languages and load the pre-defined ibus engines by language.

Fonts

  • Adobe Source Han Sans Fonts (adobe-source-han-sans-cn-fonts and adobe-source-han-sans-twhk-fonts) is the default font for Chinese environment.
    • If you prefer to use Fedora 20 default Chinese fonts, or en-counter problems, please use the following command to revert to Fedora 20 Chinese fonts:
      $su -c "yum install cjkuni-uming-fonts cjkuni-ukai-fonts wqy-zenhei-fonts"
      $su -c "yum remove adobe-source-han-sans-cn-fonts adobe-source-han-sans-twhk-fonts"
  • The Lohit Oriya font (lohit-oriya-fonts) has been renamed to Lohit Odia (lohit-odia-fonts) as per the Odisha State government's guidelines.
  • The Lohit Punjabi font (lohit-punjabi-fonts) has been renamed to Lohit Gurmukhi (lohit-gurmukhi-fonts) to avoid confusion between the Arabic and Gurmukhi scripts.
  • ekmukta-fonts is a new Unicode-compliant Devanagari font with a mono-linear typeface.
