The Fedora Project is a worldwide community that creates a Linux distribution, used by more than one million computers, every six months.

Once every winter in North America, we hold the Fedora Users and Developers Conference, or FUDCon. Approximately 150–200 people around the world attend the three-day event to work face-to-face on Fedora and to help teach others new skills. This January, FUDCon will be held on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence, Kansas, USA.

FUDCon is organized into three days: one BarCamp conference day, and two hackfest days. The BarCamp conference is more accurately called an "unconference"; no talks are scheduled before they are announced and voted on at the start of the conference. During the hackfests over the next two days, attendees work together on projects to improve Fedora and free software in general.

We need your help!

The Fedora community continues to grow, and each year we require more budget to run FUDCon.

Note that we are not asking for a direct financial contribution to our project; instead, we ask that sponsors directly pay some of our conference's expenses. This has the added benefit of tying your sponsorship to something important at our event, instead of just having your logo on a website.

Below are some of our expenses with approximate pricing — these numbers reflect estimates and past years' conferences, and the exact cost will vary. Since we also don't know how many people will attend the conference, you can limit your sponsorship to a number of pre-registered attendees (we have commonly used 140 attendees in the past).

Expense Description Cost
Box lunches Pay for boxed lunches at the event space catered by KU Dining Services (unknown)
T-Shirts Pay for T-shirts for attendees, received on the first day of the conference (unknown)

In addition to your logo being printed and placed near the sponsored activity (when it makes sense to do so), we'll also prominently place your logo on our FUDCon Lawrence wiki page and in the conference booklet.
