=== Echo icon development ===
=== The Fedora History Tour ===

MartinSourada posts on the Fedora Art list about the status if the Echo icon set development: "I've recently finished updating and transferring the ToDo/Menus list to fedorahosted [2] . My plans are that we decide on priorities [3]  for the icons and those with highest priority would be blocker for next major release (0.4)."
On the Fedora Art list MartinSourada propose [1] an interesting project "to make some sort of tour through
the Fedora history. It might be interesting to directly compare Fedora 1 to Fedora 10 :-D ".

Martin also express his somewhat ambitious plans for the Fedora 10 release cycle: "We'd like to target the Echo icons for the F10 release, but there is still a lot of work to be done, and currently there are only two people (me and Luya) actively working on them which is too little."
In reply, MatthiasClasen points [2] to a study by WilliamJonMcCann [3] covering a large amount of wallpapers from various operating systems, including Fedora. Building on Jon's work, Martin comes with a simple walkthrough [4] from Fedora Core 1 to Fedora 10 current proposals.

Of course, some new contributors will be useful for getting the work done, but with the recent increase of team members, this is a possibility.

GiacomoSucci posts on the Fedora Art List a draft for Fedora 9 CD/DVD art (labels, sleeves, envelopes). RyanLerch goes forward with the initiative and produce a set of materials based on the latest desktop graphics (the Waves theme).

On a related topic, PaulFrields ask [3]  some technicalities about the mechanics of bulk printing media art, and he gets the best informed answer [4]  from MaxSpevack, who was in charge with producing those for the last releases "The process of doing this for North America tends to get noticed the most, simply because we usually make thousands of disks, and I've been the guy who's done it the last few times."

On his blog [1], NicuBuculei starts publishing tips for creating icons for Fedora's own brewed icon theme, Echo [2] and invites the other project members to come with their own tips and tutorials, encouraging new blood to start contributing to the theme. The initiative is warmly received by LuyaTshimbalanga and MartinSourada - "I have plan to provide some how-to's and similar things, as well as some recruitment page to the fh.o echo page", so Fedora 10 may have at least a new default icon theme.

The Fedora History Tour

On the Fedora Art list MartinSourada propose [1] an interesting project "to make some sort of tour through the Fedora history. It might be interesting to directly compare Fedora 1 to Fedora 10 :-D ".

Contributing to Echo icon theme

On his blog [1], NicuBuculei starts publishing tips for creating icons for Fedora's own brewed icon theme, Echo [2] and invites the other project members to come with their own tips and tutorials, encouraging new blood to start contributing to the theme. The initiative is warmly received by LuyaTshimbalanga and MartinSourada - "I have plan to provide some how-to's and similar things, as well as some recruitment page to the fh.o echo page", so Fedora 10 may have at least a new default icon theme.
