Revision as of 13:30, 26 September 2009 by Quaid (talk | contribs) (Moving some tasks from my personal list to here so they don't get dropped; I'm going to ask Eric Foster-Johnson about relicensing the RPM Guide; it was contributed under the OPL and not under the CLA)

Overview

The Docs Project has approved the change from OPL to CC-BY-SA license for all documentation products including all guides and the wiki. This schedule will provide a timeline for doing this change over.

Timeline

  1. Get new language into Publican for new license. (Rudi!) DONE --Sparks 01:47, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
  2. Communicate with f-devel to notify them of the license change to the wiki. DONE --Quaid 00:02, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
  3. Communicate with all guide leads to make sure all current guides can be switched over within an identified period of time. (Sparks) DONE --Sparks 01:16, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
  4. Provide internal notification of change (blog, announce list) with a time period for the change over (a week?). (ian?)
  5. Make necessary changes to the wiki. (ianweller)
  6. Courtesy note to all Fedora Docs contributors (past, present) whose content is being relicensed (quaid)
    • Ask Eric Foster-Johnson about RPM Guide, otherwise hold aside from conversion (no CLA in FAS for Eric) (quaid)
  7. Make changes to the guides. Rebuild all current versions and push them to docs.fp.o and repos. (All)
  8. Verify all current items have been changed. (Sparks/All)
  9. Notify CC of the change for their announcement. (Ian)
  10. Make official announcement to world/galaxy/universe that we've made the switch to CC-BY-SA. (Ian)
  11. Enjoy fruits of our labor.
