Revision as of 17:01, 2 December 2009

Meeting details

Regular meetings for Fedora Marketing take place on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting, every Tuesday at 20.00 UTC (4pm EST in the Daylight Saving Time summer period, 3pm EST in the Daylight Saving Time winter period).

Agenda

Every meeting consists of 3 parts:

  1. Task update status (a sentence or two from the meeting chair on where things stand; no more than 5min)
  2. Discussion topics
  3. Open floor
  • Continuing projects
    • Fedora Insight
    • Marketing research
  • New projects
    • Fedora-tour
    • User stories
  • Starting to look forward to F13 - what ideas do we have so far, how do we want to gather them? (Target date for F13 planning brainstorm/meeting: immediately after FUDCon, 12/8).
    • Fedora Handbook
    • Join process
Coming up next
--------------------

   Start End Name
Tue 22-Sep Tue 13-Oct Finish in-depth feature profiles
Tue 29-Sep Tue 13-Oct Update press kits
Wed 14-Oct Wed 14-Oct Beta Project Wide Release Readiness Meeting
Tue 20-Oct Tue 20-Oct Start One-page Release Notes: Docs & Marketing
Tue 20-Oct Tue 20-Oct Beta Release Public Availability
Tue 20-Oct Tue 27-Oct Create one page Release Notes with Marketing

The motivation is to have as many simultaneous actively participating people in the meeting as possible - ideally, at all times in the meeting, everyone in the meeting should be doing something really cool (and hopefully Marketing-related) - not just waiting for their turn to speak. Think of it as a virtual version of the law of two feet.

Teleconference number

Fedora Marketing has a teleconference number available for when voice meetings are desired.

  1. Visit the Fedora talk server for details on accessing the conference via VoIP or direct dial-in
  2. The Fedora Marketing conference extension number is '2004'

Procedure for Minutes and Logging

  • At the start of the meeting, the meeting chair (usually the Marketing chair or his/her delegate) starts zodbot (a variant of meetbot (see documentation)) by saying #startmeeting in the #fedora-meetings channel.
  • At the end of the meeting, the meeting chair stops zodbot by saying #endmeeting. zodbot will automatically generate a log and post its URL to the #fedora-meetings channel. The meeting chair or his/her delegate then edits this page to add the link to the log below.
  • Use this link to send the link to fedora-marketing-list@redhat.com
