Target Audience

The Fedora multiboot guide is targeted towards users who are using Fedora along with one or more other operating systems on the same machine. It also covers some processes and applications that might be helpful in a heterogeneous environment or household.

efibootmgr

  • demonstrate using efibootmgr to reorder boot entries
  • In case of emergencies, cover manual creation of firmware boot options using efibootmgr.
  • add Fedora to Windows menu? https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/31126 seems to think so.

smb

Cover *basic* samba deployment, with links out to guides with more comprehensive coverage.

uefi

  • Neither win8 or Fedora will function if installed via UEFI and UEFI is disabled.
  • Fedora will work with a GPT disk either way; the Windows installer will give a cryptic complaint about GPT labelling if you attempt to use a GPT volume without UEFI.

Universal USB writers

Find a place to warn people about unetbootin and friends. they don't work reliably.
