Description

This test case focuses on lock screen, shown when user session is locked.

Setup

  • Login to the GNOME desktop.
  • Lock the user session using the power off button in the system menu, or the Super+L keyboard shortcut.
  • Wait for the screen to blank.

How to test

  1. Wake up the screen by pressing a key or moving the pointer.
  2. Try to unlock the session using wrong password.
  3. Try the "Log in as another user" option.
  4. Try to login with the correct password.
  5. When logged in and with the screen unlocked, stop interacting with the desktop and time how long it takes for the screen to automatically blank. Check that the screen has automatically locked after going blank. (The settings for this can be found in Settings > Privacy > Screen.)

Expected Results

  1. An accurate time and date should be shown.
  2. Screen should unlock after entering the correct password.
  3. If an incorrect password is entered, the screen should stay locked and show an error message.
  4. The desktop session should not be visible until after successfully unlocking.
  5. The "Log in as another user" option should bring you to the Login Screen with a list of all available user accounts. Then you can switch back or login as another user.
  6. The screen should automatically turn off and lock after the configured time. Notifications should be visible on locked screen.
