Description

adding, removal, download using GHNS

Setup

Boot Fedora to KDE4 desktop. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet.

How to test

  1. Adding plasmoids
    1. Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
    2. From list of plasmoids add "Analog Clock" to workspace. Simply dubble-click on the plasmoid or drag it onto workspace.
    3. Add more plasmoids to workspace, at least two more. You can search for plasmoids and choose them from "Categories".
  2. Configuring plasmoids
    1. Move mouse cursor on plasmoid and click and hold "rectangle" icon which appered on the side of plasmoid. Still holding, move the cursor.
    2. Move mouse cursor on plasmoid and click on "wrench tool" icon.
    3. Test various plasmoids configurations you like.
  3. Removing plasmoids
    1. Right-click on any plasmoid located on workspace and choose "Remove this ..."
    2. Continue with other plasmoids.
  4. Installing plasmoids from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
    1. Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
    2. Click on "Get New Widgets..." icon and select "Download New Plasma Widgets".
    3. Type "soho" into search bar.
    4. Click on "Details" of "SOHO Explorer".
    5. Click on "Install" to install "SOHO Explorer".
    6. Choose "Back" and search for "planets".
    7. Install "Solar system" plasmoid.
    8. Add "SOHO Explorer" and "Solar system" onto workspace as you did with previous plasmoids. You can search for them or choose "Astronomy" at list of "Categories".
    9. You can install more plasmoids and add them onto workspace.
  5. Uninstalling plasmoids installed from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
    1. Remove "SOHO Explorer" and "Solar system" from workspace as you did with previous plasmoids.
    2. Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
    3. Click on "Get New Widgets..." icon and select "Download New Plasma Widgets".
    4. Select "Installed" from "Order by:" list.
    5. Click on "Uninstall" and uninstall all user installed plasmoids.

Expected Results

  1. Adding plasmoids
    1. List of plasmoids should appear.
    2. Plasmoid should be placed on workspace.
    3. You should see at least three plasmoids on workspace.
  2. Configuring plasmoids
    1. Plasmoid should change size as you move the cursor and should not crash.
    2. Configuration window should appear.
    3. Plasmoids should reflect configuration options and should not crash.
  3. Removing plasmoids
    1. Selected plasmoid should be removed from workspace.
    2. All user added plasmoids should be removed from workspace.
  4. Installing plasmoids from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
    1. List of plasmoids should appear.
    2. New window titled "Get Hot New Stuff - Plasma Desktop Shell" should appear.
    3. "SOHO Explorer" should be in list.
    4. Check "Details for SOHO Explorer" is working properly, eg. showing images and links.
    5. "SOHO Explorer" should be successfully installed.
    6. "Solar system" should be in list.
    7. "Solar system" plasmoid should be successfully installed.
    8. "SOHO Explorer" and "Solar system" should be placed on workspace.
    9. All user installed plasmoids should be placed on workspace.
  5. Uninstalling plasmoids installed from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
    1. "SOHO Explorer" and "Solar system" plasmoids should be removed from workspace.
    2. List of plasmoids should appear.
    3. New window titled "Get Hot New Stuff - Plasma Desktop Shell" should appear.
