Setup

  1. Ensure gnome-session-wayland-session is installed

How to test

  1. On the login screen, choose the Wayland session from the session chooser
  2. Launch applications both with the X11 backend and with the Wayland backend
    1. GDK_BACKEND=x11 gedit
    2. GDK_BACKEND=wayland gnome-calculator

Expected Results

  1. The desktop will appear as normal, no visible difference from the X11 session
  2. Applications work
