Time Based Release Schedule

To understand the reasoning behind time based release cycles and Fedora's release lifecycle see Fedora Release Life Cycle.

Development

The release of Fedora currently under development is Fedora 41.

Starting with Fedora 13, the "No Frozen Rawhide" pattern will be used, meaning the following distributions will be worked on simultaneously:

  • Rawhide - Continuous daily updates with no guarantee of stability. Intended for initial testing of the very latest code under active development. (Will become Fedora 41 + 1.)
    • On mirrors: development/rawhide
    • Repositories: rawhide (unstable)
  • Development - Development branch that lasts from pre-Alpha to post-Beta. Continuous daily updates, but with controls to promote stabilization.
    • On mirrors: development/41
    • Repositories: fedora (stable), updates-testing (unstable)
  • The last two supported general public releases (see below for links)
    • On mirrors: releases/40, releases/39
    • Repositories: fedora (frozen), updates (stable), updates-testing (unstable)
