Recently some requirements to rpmlint functionality occurs. This wiki page tries to summarize them and provide information about progress of the implementation.


  • Rpmlint should check if there are manual page for each binary/script


  • Rpmlint should check if there isn't two binaries with same name in the standard binary directories



  • Rpmlint should check if specfile contains both Fedora and RHEL conditional

    • Status: Patch proposed

This checks are in planning state. It is not even decided if they are doable.

  • One file in two subpackages (Issues: %files -f for reading file list from file; usage of *)
