- It was pointed out that the page mentions testing with Oracle's JDK.  I just tried the install and it was kewl with my existing openjdk.  I believe there is some issue with Hadoop and OpenJDK, but I didn't readily find the discussion on this in a cursory search.

A: The OracleJDK was used only as a baseline, to detect if there are issues introduced by using OpenJDK. You should use OpenJDK w/ Hadoop on Fedora and report any issues you encounter as BZs so we can fix Hadoop or OpenJDK.
