  • Marcus, sounds like you care. Please file bugs so we can track these issues properly.

Comments (Marcus Moeller)

  • lightdm is missing a theme on a default DVD install with MATE selected during installation
  • Nice to have packages: mate-volume-control / mate-power-manager / mate-screensaver/ mate-file-archiver (with Caja 'Extract to' extension).
  • caja seems to be started with the --no-desktop option. If no desktop icons should be shown, i would suggest to disable the /apps/caja/preferences/show_desktop mateconf value instead.

Comments (Marcus Moeller)

  • Filed a bug on the background image problem #867053
  • Going to re-check the installation (update: works fine now, but mate-themes is not installed by default. Should mate-themes perhaps be added as Requires to mate-session-manager? 20121017)
  • xscreensaver does not work correctly. (update: /usr/libexec/xscreensaver-autostart seems to be set as startup application, but does not seem to launch xscreensaver. Maybe switch to mate-screensaver instead. 20121017)

Comments (Dan Mashal)

  • TC4 is already old.
  • Please try the newest smoke build. Ask in #fedora-qa.
  • File a bug against the appropriate package (mate-backgrounds in this case).
  • Also it works for me.

Comments (Marcus Moeller)

  • When I change the background image, it is not applied directly. It is displayed after re-login.
  • I have selected MATE Desktop environment during installation of the Beta TC4 images, but it results in a LightDM/Openbox setup. The 'MATE desktop' package group is not installed.

Comments (Feature Wrangler)

  • a mistake in a summary "and provides an provides an"
  • I'm not sure mentioning link with Linus makes a good karma (as some people could understand it as Gnome 3 offence)
  • for scope - please create a list of packages being imported to Fedora with status of how far the import is (packages, under review - with #bz etc.)
  • I'd rephrase User Experience section and use different words
  • please, provide more details in Release Notes section (does not have to be final text)
  • email address does not work

Marcus, please open a bug against mate-backgrounds. I do not have this issue.
