Historical note

This page was accurate as of 2012, but much has changed since then. Please, do not take any statements of license/component acceptance or denial as absolute truths. Why and how to do a legal audit?

Only packages licensed under a free license can successfully pass through review process, i.e. to be included into Fedora. If the licensing is clear, one needs to move the package including headline and title from any of sections to either Fedora approved or Fedora disapproved sections. Please state clearly which license is appropriate to a package if moved to Fedora approved, e.g. adobemapping - BSD.

I found a bibtex.web that says it was distributed before 1989 at http://ftp.math.utah.edu/pub/tex/bibtex/bibtex.web , but that one appears to have a much stricter copyright notice:

Public Domain

In many parts of the world, it is not possible for a copyright holder to abandon their copyright, and put a work into the Public Domain. Thus, it is important to determine where the code was written (and in some cases, who wrote it).

 This is an experimental package. Feel free to improve it as you see fit.
 There are a number of shortcomings with this package (but I'm not going to
