Bio

Amit Caleechurn born in 1982 in Mauritius, lives at Quatre Bornes. His first experience with IT started at the age of 11, discovered Linux in 1999 and fell instantly in love with it. Quickly got accustomed with the basics, followed his first Administration course in 2001, security followed shortly, took some months' holidays from work in 2007 to complete his RHCE (805007092328507)in India. He completed his RHCSS/RHCDS in 2010 and is currently working on achieving RHCA, being just short of one exam (EX442). Shortly after completing his RHCE certification he moved to a Software Technology Provider. He was previously responsible for assembling & programming slot machines and surveillance systems having followed courses in these fields in Singapore, Russia and Ukraine. His interest has always been with Open Source technologies and it finally had the better of him. Currently he implements Open Source technologies in his company starting from Samba PDC/FDS, mail servers to server consolidation using Xen/KVM. He is also a part time lecturer teaching Linux (Red Hat/CentOS & Fedora) administration to professionals from various companies willing to make the switch.
