Description

This case tests upgrading from the current stable release (Fedora 39) to the development release (Fedora 40) with Xfce desktop.


How to test

  1. Perform an installation of the previous Fedora release (Fedora 39) with Xfce desktop using:
    1. Xfce Spin or
    2. DVD/Boot.iso/Netinst.iso/PXE installation and select XFCE group
  2. Do a full system update
  3. Upgrade your system to Fedora 40 installer using any available means (boot.iso, PXE or DVD.iso)
  4. Boot and test the system
  5. Log into Xfce and test the desktop and applications (Terminal, File manager, panels, Web browser etc ...)

Expected Results

  1. The system should be upgraded to Fedora 40 version without error
  2. Xfce desktop configuration must be the same, if there's any changes in configuration file format, you should be prompted to migrate your configuration.
