Personal attitudes towards Fedora and FOSS

Countries like India, some topics those can be heard from IT folks and even non-IT folks, are FOSS, Linux, Fedora ... For us, It is like huge hop! Because from year ago, very few people were there to work and do something with FOSS. But now things have been changed a lot. Government has taken many initiatives for promoting and fostering the adoption of Free & Open Source Software (FOSS) in view of various inherent advantages like increasing interoperability, developing local capacity/ industry, reducing costs, conserving foreign exchange, achieving vendor independence, enabling localization and reducing piracy/copyright infringements. India’s strength in Information Technology can be further utilized to develop products using FOSS which will help in bridging the digital divide with significant cost savings and facilitate the creation of a knowledge society. Indian industry/SMEs can benefit from the liberal licensing norms of FOSS which enables software to be freely modified and distributed (MEITY Govt Of India) and also they are giving a big support by encouraging FOSS and the happy thing is, most of Government departments and organisations using opensource as their #1 priority system!. So we're proud to be a part of fedora community and feels like we achieved endless freedom... But still, there is a long tour to go.
