I've been involved with the Fedora project for almost two years now. I'm part of the design team, mostly directing my efforts towards GlitterGallery. I'm also Fedora Ambassador for the Asia Pacific region. I was a Google Summer of Code student in 2013 & 2014, and look forward to mentoring in the upcoming years.
I have been involved with the Fedora Project since 2013. Over the years, I have found myself helping out in multiple ways:

* I've co-authored GlitterGallery for the Fedora design team. v0.1 is out, though we're still shaky with getting it adopted. Read about it [https://github.com/glittergallery/GlitterGallery/blob/master/README.markdown on GitHub], [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Design/GlitterGallery Fedora Wiki] or [https://github.com/glittergallery/GlitterGallery/wiki/Get-Involved! help us deliver faster].
### Design Team
* I'm working on extracting the nice bits from GlitterGallery, and inventing nicer bits to create a front-end framework/kit called Embrace. Read the [https://github.com/glittergallery/GlitterGallery/issues/51 discussion on GitHub].

* I'm mentoring two students and working on creating a better experience for folks to get onboarded onto the Fedora Project. [https://sarupbanskota.github.io/fedora/2014/11/13/fedora-join-developments.html Read about it] or watch my [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HYYv0QpjPY talk from Flock 2014] that sparked it.
* Co-authored [http://glittergallery.net GlitterGallery], a collaboration tool for open source designers.
* I'm mentoring two students and working on creating a platform for folks to store their Fedora work history. Read about it: [TODO blog post, expected Nov 20, 2014]
* Along with Suchakra, led the redesign of the Ask Fedora Project
* As an ambassador, I'm constantly helping bring new folks to the community, although I have to admit I'm biased towards bringing involvement to the design team and GlitterGallery.
* Conducted front-end best practices workshops at local conferences

### Ambassadors Team

* While in college, led the Fedora community, working towards attracting more Fedora users, and introducing potential contributors to starting points
* On a regional level, conducted installfests and workshops on a variety of topics ranging from generic FOSS introduction, version control, web development in Indian universities
* As Ambassador for the Asia Pacific region, helped with budget planning and conducted technical workshops at South East Asian universities and conference environments

### Mentoring

* Mentored Kalpani Anuradha over Google Summer of Code 2015 to work on the Ask Fedora redesign project
* Mentored Aditya Prakash over Google Summer of Code 2015 to work on the GlitterGallery project

I’m a nomadic web developer specialized in writing semantic markup and clean stylesheets. I have 2.5 years of experience working with Responsive Web Design, typically on Ruby on Rails projects.

I can help you with the following:

  • Wireframing products that are in a “confused” state
  • Writing good HTML/CSS - I use Sass/Compass as much as I do Twitter Bootstrap
  • Clean website landing pages
  • Responsive HTML emails
  • Visualizing your data with interactive charts
  • Mobile first front end, which is snappy and feels clean
  • Reasonably complex backend for an admin module perhaps, with Rails

      1. Mentoring
  • Mentored Kalpani Anuradha over Google Summer of Code 2015 to work on the Ask Fedora redesign project
  • Mentored Aditya Prakash over Google Summer of Code 2015 to work on the GlitterGallery project

Presence Otherwise

I hang out in several communities and try to help where I can.

  • I'm currently doing the web/infra work for Fossography, the most awesome conference for FLOSS designers to participate. Look at the current progress.
  • I help run the University tech{know}logy club, in several ways:
  • I've attended several Ruby India community meetups and conferences as an Opportunity Scholar, and even did a Grit workshop in Mysore.

Talks

Very often, I speak at conferences, do workshops and mentor students around FOSS, the Fedora community, Ruby on Rails and Designing for the web. Here's the interesting bunch from 2014, along with links to resources where applicable:
