Michele Bursi

ProfiloRound.jpg

I'm Michele Bursi, I was born in Florence, 15th June. Now I live in Italy between Pisa (during week), Florence (few days a month) and a small town near Arezzo (in the weekend).

I have a Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering (University of Florence), and now I am finishing studies for MS Degree at University of Pisa.

I start to use Linux a long long time ago...my first distribution...Red Hat Linux in 1999.

I'm working as freelance as system administrator, programmer and sometimes realize web apps mostly in RubyOnRails.

I proud member of LILiK, a Free Software Lab in the Engineering Faculty at University of Florence.

I have a lot of interest, mainly in technology, but also sports. I like to spent my time to learn new technologies or try to build some stuff with electronics devices (Arduino for example) and Linux and interconnect between them (I'm very interested in Internet of Things), or develop software and applications for various purpose. Another interest is Networking, for my Bachelor Degree I did work in a Project for Selex Comms to develop an handover facility method for Mesh networks.

Activities within Fedora

  • I'll Apply for Fedora Ambassador program and I'm waiting for confirm
  • I am interested to spread Fedora. I have programmed various meetings in secondary schools to talk to students and explaining what is Fedora, what Linux is, what free software and what is open source. I will use Fedora as my operating system during meetings, to Install Fest and other practical activities to spread and make them understand the potential.
