Financial Software
Fedora offers software for both GNOME and KDE environments to manage your finances. GnuCash is the financial software recommended for users with the GNOME desktop environment, and Kmymoney is recommended financial software for the KDE environment. Only the DVD version of Fedora includes both financial software packages. Both financial software packages are available for easy download and installation with either the Add/Remove Software utility or with commands through the console.
GnuCash
GnuCash is not installed by default from the Live-CD or the DVD. However, you can choose to install Gnucash from the DVD. The Add/Remove Software utility called Pirut will offer a more familiar interface for most users. Here is how to install GnuCash using Add/Remove Software.
Click Applications > Add/Remove Software.
When Pirut opens, select Applications > Office/Productivity, and then click the [Optional Packages] button.
After the Packages window opens, scroll down and tick the box next to gnucash.
Now click the [Close] button.
If you have any other packages you also wish to install, you may select them at this time. Once you are finished selecting other packages to add or remove from your system, click the [Apply] button in Pirut. This will start the process of installing GnuCash and concurrently install or remove any additional packages where you modified the tick box.
GnuCash is now installed on your computer.
Another way to install GnuCash application is to use the console. Open the console and type:
su -c 'yum install gnucash'
