  • Better thumbnailing (currently things don't have autogenerated thumbnails, sometimes these can be generated by external app, no thumbnails on desktop though)
    • There is tumbler did you check if it's running on your machine?
      • Thanks for the pointer. That fixes is for supported files (thunar-thumbnailer plugin would be nice to have for other files as well). Does not fix not having thumbnails on desktop. I haven't found it in xfce kickstart, is that even installed by default? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682433
    • Looks like tumbler is scheduled for 4.10 to be core component, also thunar is scheduled to take over desktop in 4.10 in place of xfdesktop
  • Implement Tabs/Panels in Thunar
    • Afaik it was a design decision not to implement tabs in thunar. Talked to jpohlmann about this quite a while ago
  • Make default desktop prettier -- less spacing, no or almost no background in icon labels
    • Looks like desktop will be managed by thunar since 4.10, so this might improve
  • Keyring support in midori
  • Time/Calendars applets are a mess -- need one that can do sensibly both.
    • Did you have a look at Orage?
      • I gave it a second look now. Looks pretty usable. But why is the calendar always in the middle of the screen?
  • Easier dual head (currently only cloning is supported via gui config)
    • Scheduled to improve in 4.10
  • Ability to turn tapping on touchpad on (setting it via gnome utils does not seem to make it work under xfce)
    • That could be done via synclient, e.g. from terminal.
      • I'm looking for gui way. We already have some basic mouse settings, why not add touchpad settings?
    • gpointing-device-settings
      • Mostly what I've been looking for but a) it isn't shown outside gnome and b) even though it says tapping is enabled it still does not work…
  • Same widget theme for GTK+2 and GTK+3 (currently does not exist)
  • calendar shows in the middle of the screen instead of bellow/above (depends in what panel you have it) orage clock applet (mso)
    • If you drag the calendar to the position you like, doesn't it stay there? Also the next time you start it? (hannes)
