Container Base Image Definition
The purpose of this document is to capture the formal decision on how the Base Runtime team agreed to approach the development of a modular container base image.
Decision
The decision is to use a subset of the Generational Core as a base image definition, providing the list of components to be included in a special-purpose installation profile, which is yet to be named. The runtime dependencies of the listed components will be included as well.
What components will actually get included in the image and what Generational Core sub-modules they will originate from is to be decided later as part of figuring out the implementation details mentioned below.
