The Fedora community will celebrate the release of Fedora Linux 44 with a virtual Release Party on Friday, 24 April, 2026. For a few hours, Fedora contributors and leaders will speak about recent changes in Fedora Linux 44 and the Fedora Project. Our global Release Parties are a great way to learn more about the latest Fedora Linux release and also an opportunity to get to know the Fedora contributors behind it all.
We hope you will join us in a celebration of our last six months and the people who make it possible!
Note: For this release, we will celebrate Fedora Linux 44 slightly ahead of its actual final release on Tuesday 28th April 2026.
Logistics
This section contains the practical information you need to know for participating in this Release Party event.
Platform & Registration
The event will be hosted on Matrix in a dedicated event chat room. An embedded live stream will be shared in the Matrix room for synchronous watching, but a view-only stream will also be available on YouTube. Registration is free but it is required to gain access to the Matrix room. Attendees will receive an invitation to the Release Party room before the event begins.

Event Programming & Speakers
Fedora Linux Release Party content and speakers are scheduled by invitation. The programming is managed by Justin Wheeler, Cornelius Emase and Jona Azizaj.
If you have an idea for a 10-minute presentation about a new feature in Fedora Linux 44, an update from your team or SIG, or another interesting topic, please send an email to Justin and Cornelius to pitch your idea. We strongly prefer pre-recorded presentations, but live sessions are also possible.

This event is organized by the Fedora Community Operations (CommOps) team, but we need your help to make it a success! This is a great opportunity to get involved and meet other Fedorans. We are looking for volunteers in several areas:
