Why do you want to work with the Fedora Project?

I was introduced to fedora, quite a long time back and have been using fedora for quite some time now. My contribution toward fedora has been in terms of user awareness and organizing community events. Being a part of Linux user group at my college. We have quite an active Linux user group at our college. Now, I want to extend my contribution and code for fedora. I am very much interested to be a part of fedora-infra group. My experience in working with web-technologies and ability to learn quickly would always be valuable to Fedora community.

Do you have any past involvement with the Fedora project or any other open source project as a contributor?

I have been previously contributing to the community by organizing events. I have been Mozilla student ambassador, previously, was responsible for organizing Mozilla events across the city. Also, I did helped the openstack foundation to organize several meetups at our university. I was involved in the core-organising committee for this event. COnf@jmi lug. This event was organised in association with fedora. [details \ http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CONF@JMILUG]. Also, I am an avid contributor to Wikipedia contribution for a long time.

Organized many events at my university. Some are listed below.

Did you participate with the past GSoC programs, if so which years, which organizations?

No I did not participate with any of the past GSOC programs.

Will you continue contributing/ supporting the Fedora project after the GSoC 2014 program, if yes, which team(s), you are interested with?

Yes, I would want to very much continue with fedora. I would like to continue with the fedora-infra team.

I shall like to get involved with package maintainer, website and documentation teams after the project.

Why should we choose you over other applicants?

I have been a firm believer of open source software and have relevant experience coding with Web-technologies and python. I have been developing desktop as well as web application using the python programming language. I have experience working with many frame works and tools including Django, Flask, Tornado, Glade, GTK and PyGames. For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been extensively engaged with the project mentors, contributing to the existing code base of the project. I pushed several commits in the Github repository for the project for example Developed optimized entity–relation models for the backend of the project.

I am quite fluent with Python,PHP,C/C++ ,JAVA & HTML.

Also, I have experience working with opensource communities and believe to share my work for other people.

Have you communicated with a potential mentor? If so, who?

For the past few weeks, I have been constantly in touch with the project mentors Eduardo Echeverria and Yohan Graterol.

How many hours will you devote to your GSOC project each week? What are your other summer plans?

I will be working full time on the idea, and will give 40+ hours a week as stated by Google have my end semester exams from 1st may to 19th may, 2014 so I will not be able to devote much time during that but I will try to compensate it by working more hours while I have my summer break from 19 may to 16 July 2014.
