Tux Typing 2

Tux Typing is an educational typing tutor for children. It features several different types of gameplay, at a variety of difficulty levels.

Installing and Running

Tux Typing 2 is available under the Fedora Extras Community repository, and can be installed using the yum tool. To install, either use a front-end tool (like yumex) or issue the following command in a terminal as root:

yum install tuxtype2

This will grab the game and all its dependencies from the Internet, so you need to be connected to the Internet. After installing, you can run the program under the menu:

Applications -> Games -> Tux Typing

Or press ALT+F2 on your desktop (or go to a terminal like gnome-terminal and konsole), type tuxtype2, and press Enter.

Game Options

-h, --help, -help
Prints this help message

-f, --fullscreen
Selects fullscreen display (default)

-w, --window
Selects windowed display (not fullscreen)

-s, --sound
Allow in-game sounds (default)

-ns, --nosound
Disables in-game sounds

-t {THEME}, --theme {THEME}
Use theme named {THEME}, if it exists

-sp, --speed
Speed up gameplay (for use on slower
machines)

-d, --debug
Enable debug mode (output)

-v, --version
Display version number and exit
