Current status

Rock Solid Wireless is currently in jeopardy due to a lack of userspace NM/wpa_supplicant developers.

Summary

Make wireless in Fedora rock solid.

Usage cases/rationale

Yusef wants to take his laptop anywhere there is wireless and easily connect, out of the box, whether it's open, using WEP, or using WPA.

Scope

Requires kernel driver work, NetworkManager work, wpa_supplicant work.

Test Plan

Get all supported wireless hardware. Test association with open, WEP, and WPA networks. Test in congested networks to make sure the connection stays up.

Supported hardware that should be tested (in no order): 1. ipw2200 1. ipw2100 1. prism54 1. zd1211rw 1. zd1201 1. orinoco_* 1. bcm43xx 1. atmel_* 1. ipw3945 (if upstream) 1. aironet

Dependencies

Depends on the wireless firmware feature.
