This is a draft. Please add, modify, make suggestions etc - this is very much a work in progress. Mel Chua 06:13, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Introduction

This is an attempt to list some heuristics that we can evaluating our sites against. Think of it as a sanity checklist of standard tests that we can use to make sure that a website "works." Please add to this list - we'll discuss it at the next Websites meeting if there's time.

Screen size

  • Minimum: 800x600
  • We do not currently have a stylesheet for supporting mobile devices.

Browsers

  • Firefox 2, 3

Accessibility

  • Color-blind viewable?
  • Is the HTML in an order that is screen-reader friendly?
  • Are alt tags provided for all images?
  • Is audio/video transcribed or captioned, or at least described?
