Background

This page describes the significant milestones in the Fedora development schedule for Fedora 13.

Definitions

Feature Submission Deadline Final date that new features can be submitted to the release New features must be submitted to next release Request exception from FESCo
Feature Freeze Feature development is complete or in a significantly complete state so that the feature can be adequately tested Bug fixes and polish only; significant development should be complete Request exception from FESCo
Branch From Rawhide Branch release under development from rawhide Once branched, changes to release under development and rawhide must be checked into both places Not Applicable
Alpha Freeze Limit changes to prepare Alpha release

To be included:

  • Critical Path Packages--bug must block F13Alpha
  • All other packages need tag request
File tag request with Release Engineering
Software String Freeze No more changes to software strings so that translation can complete No new strings added File exception request with Translation
Beta Freeze Limit changes to prepare Beta release

To be included:

Final Freeze Severely limit changes to prepare the Release Candidate (RC) and Final release.
