Description

This test ensures that the scanner application can detect your scanner and use it to scan documents.

Setup

Install the pre-release version of Fedora that is to be tested on a bare metal system using the default Anaconda settings.

How to test

  • Open the launcher menu and open the "Document Scanner" (english name) application.
  • The applications should open a window on your screen. Immediately it should be searching for scanners on your network. Once it has done searching it will list the scanners in the dropdown menu (combobox) on the lower middle of the application window.
  • Select your scanner from the list and press the scan button in the top left corner of the window.
  • Once the scanner is done scanning a page, the scan should appear in the window.
  • Press the save button in the top right of the window and save a PDF with your scan.

Expected Results

The following must be true to consider this a successful test run. Be brief ... but explicit.

  • The Scanner window opens.
  • Your scanner is listed.
  • Pressing scan starts the scanning process
  • The Page with the scan appears correctly in the application window after the scanner is done.
  • A PDF file with the scan is stored to disk.

Optional

  • Try scanning more pages.
  • Try Cropping the scan.
