Description

This test case tests whether the Palimpsest disk management tool can manage a common disk configuration. It requires a typical desktop hard disk configuration, with common PATA or SATA disks.

How to test

  1. Ensure the Package-x-generic-16.pnggnome-disk-utility packages is installed
  2. Launch Palimpsest, with the command palimpsest or as System Tools > Disk Utility on the system menus
  3. Examine the list of physical drives presented by the tool and check if it reflects the actual disks present in your system. Click on each device in turn and check that the information provided is accurate

Expected Results

  1. The tool should detect all hard disks and optical drives in your system and display accurate information about each. For the purposes of this test, ignore information about logical constructs such as RAID and LVM arrays
