Has there been any thought to whether it would be worth developing a quick switch / application / applet icon that sits next to network manager in the tray. | |||
The same types of plug events could be queried of the user like: | |||
An extra / external display was plugged in, would you like to extend your desktop onto the new screen, or clone the existing screen to the new screen [extend] [clone] [nochange] | |||
and so on... | |||
It would have "presets" that the user defines and adds to, like network manager: | |||
- built in display at clearest resolution | |||
- built in display and external display cloned | |||
- etc. | |||
Pressing the display cycle button (fn-f4 etc) would step through each preset in order. | |||

Has there been any thought to whether it would be worth developing a quick switch / application / applet icon that sits next to network manager in the tray.
The same types of plug events could be queried of the user like: An extra / external display was plugged in, would you like to extend your desktop onto the new screen, or clone the existing screen to the new screen [extend] [clone] [nochange]
and so on...
It would have "presets" that the user defines and adds to, like network manager: - built in display at clearest resolution - built in display and external display cloned - etc.
