Steven Huss-Lederman is a member of the Computer Science Department at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin. Steve has had a [http://www.beloit.edu/computerscience/faculty/huss/mpi/ long history with the MPI project], more recently worked on [http://www.beloit.edu/computerscience/faculty/huss/becs/ increasing the number of women interested in computing] with colleagues from around the US, and brings these experiences with him into the world of free and open source software.

Steve has been moving into the world of FOSS in interesting ways, including working with future English teachers at UABJO in Oaxaca, Mexico, on translations of the popular Audacity project. Having attended HFOSS meetings at SIGCSE, his attendance at POSSE 2011 is a natural extension of his interests and an opportunity to find new ways to engage students in computing and open source communities.
