I'm a postdoc at the Astrophysics Department at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). We use Fedora extensively here. I'm interested in scientific and visualization tools .
I maintain several packages . I will try to add more astronomy tools , time permitting.

Non-free software in Astronomy
There are a lot, much more than I imagined, astronomy software packages that aren't free software. This includes not only big old programs such as Iraf, but also new tools (what worries me a lot) developed for the Virtual Observatory initiative.
