I was on the first Fedora Extras Steering Committee (FESCo) and served as chairman of the second; sadly when Fedora Core and Extras merged I had to resign from that position due conflicting interests with my day job. That freed time for other things in Fedora-land, so together with others I started the EPEL effort and served as chairmen for the first EPEL Steering Committee till February 2008. I later was much praised for this and other work on Fedora by former Fedora project leader Greg DeKoenigsberg.

IRC: Usually as knurd (formally I was known as thl) on irc.freenode.org in #fedora-devel and #fedora-de. Feel free to /query or /msg me if there is a real need to. I'm normally online between 07:30 and 21:30 (local German time; "UTC-1" during winters and "UTC-2" during summers) during the week and often online on the weekends, too. I set myself /away if I'm away from keyboard for a short time and change my nick to knurd_afk when I'm away for longer time periods.
In parallel to my contributions within the Fedora project I did a lot of work for one of the most used 3rd-party add-on package repository for Fedora. Later I helped getting this repo merged with two others to form RPM Fusion, where I acted as lead developer for several years; it quickly became the mostly widely used add-on repository for Fedora and still is to this day.

I was FESCo's chairman during most of 2006 till Fedora Core and Extras merged in early 2007, when I had to step down from the job due to conflicting interests with my day job. I maintain a few packages in Fedora and helped a lot getting the EPEL effort running. In parallel to my Fedora contributions withing the Fedora project I did and do a lot of work for a well know 3rd-party add-on package repositories for Fedora (and its predecessor).
Over time my focus shifted more and more work in the area of the Linux kernel. That's why these days I'm not that active in the Fedora Project any more and maintain just a few packages in Fedora Linux. Hence in the Fedora world I these days might be most known for my repositories with up to date vanilla Linux kernel packages for Fedora, which I maintain since January 2013.

I'm still subscribed to some Fedora lists, but only look at them occasionally -- hence better CC me on anything you think I should be aware of.
