** [[User:Red|Sandro]] would be glad to do this, actually. He also knows where to get the right support (from within Fedora, [http://ethz.ch/index_EN ETHZ], [http://fsfeurope.org/ FSFE], [http://lugs.ch/lugs/ LUGS], [http://ch-open.ch/ /ch/open] and more) if necessary, don't worry! FAD EMEA 2008 was only a warm-up for him. He's also going to move to Zurich pretty soon and he'll work there, too - that's going to make things easier.

FUDCon EMEA 2009 planning

We are working on narrowing down the city choices for FUDCon EMEA 2009.

Cities that are not chosen for FUDCon will very likely be locations of FADs throughout 2009, so the organizational work is not wasted.

See the FUDCon and FAD locations page for more information.

Current possibilities

  • Athens -- organizational team exists w/ Greek Ambassadors.
  • Berlin -- proposal on the table from LinuxTag, strong organizational team. Concerns about cost.
  • Zurich -- concerns about asking Sandro to do too much organization on his own.
    • Sandro would be glad to do this, actually. He also knows where to get the right support (from within Fedora, ETHZ, FSFE, LUGS, /ch/open and more) if necessary, don't worry! FAD EMEA 2008 was only a warm-up for him. He's also going to move to Zurich pretty soon and he'll work there, too - that's going to make things easier.

Not this year...

  • Basel -- not a good year to organize in Basel, from an organizational point of view.
  • Brno -- not the same place twice in a row, we'll do a FAD in Brno and help Brno engineers get to FUDCon.
  • Stuttgart -- better for a FAD.
  • The Netherlands -- we're already thinking about FAD possibilities in The Netherlands.
