Please follow the nomenclature of adding profile information for your testing while submitting test result

1) which variant? WS (Workstation) or SB (Silverblue) or Kinoite ?

2) bare metal or VM?

3) which language used?

4) which arch used?

5) if you upgraded from the previous release, please specify "upgrade"

e.g. a complete user profile should be "Silverblue, KVM, ja_JP, x86_64, Fresh"

What to test?

Today's installment of Fedora Test Day will focus on Internationalization a.k.a. i18n around Desktops including their applications. this aims to ensure if i18n support works enough on them.

Prerequisite for Test Day

One or more keyboards with different layouts
Workstation Fedora 39 nightly image or daily compose location.

OR

Silverblue Fedora 39 nightly image or daily compose location.

OR

Kinoite Fedora 39 nightly image or daily compose location.

How to test?

Update your machine

If you test with an installed system, make sure you have all the current updates installed, using the update manager.

Live image

Instead of testing on an installed system, you may download a Fedora 39 nightly Workstation live image or Fedora 39 Silverblue image for your architecture. Tips on using a live image are available at FedoraLiveCD. The latest live image links can be found here: please make sure to get a Fedora 39 nightly, not Rawhide.

Run the tests

Visit the result page and click on the column title links to see the tests that need to be run: most column titles are links to a specific test case. Follow the instructions there, then enter your results by clicking the Enter result button for the test.

Reporting bugs

Include some instructions on how to report bugs, and any special instructions.

If you have problems with any of the tests, report a bug to Bugzilla for the appropriate component. If you are unsure about exactly how to file the report or what other information to include, just ask on IRC and we will help you.

Tested on Wayland. ↑ RHBZ #2237486 Keyboard layout switching by ibus in Plasma Wayland works. But apart from that the experience of using ibus in Plasma Wayland is terrible. The preedit has no styling at all, not even a single underline. Switching between input methods is extremely slow and sometimes only happens after switching the focus several times. The ibus panel icon often keeps showing the previous input method long after the switch.
