Current status

Detailed Description

  • ibus-anthy already has the icon but it wasn't indicated in the metainfo. Also screenshots and keywords are updated.
  • ibus-anthy will convert the Japanese era and "2023" mutually
  • ibus-anthy determines a clicked item on the candidate window but also will commit the clicked item on the candidate window in case of enabling the OSK(On-Screen Keyboard) mode in GNOME Wayland.

Feedback

Benefit to Fedora

The metainfo data is updated within the ibus-anthy pacakge, Japanese era is updated in a ibus-anthy dictionary file, the OSK mode is available only if the OSK is enabled and ibus-anthy switches the candidate mode.

How To Test

  1. Enable ibus-anthy
  2. Run gnome-text-editor
  3. Select the Dictionary mode to Era on IBus panel menu.
  4. Type "2023" or "れいわ5" and space keys
  5. The Japanese era and 2023 is converted mutually
  1. Enable OSK and ibus-anthy
  2. Run gnome-text-editor
  3. Click "a" and space x 2 keys in OSK and show the candidate window
  4. Click a candidate string on the candidate window
  5. The selected candidate string is committed in gnome-text-editor

User Experience

The metainfo data is relative with gnome-software and I hope the ibus-anthy section will be updated. Japanese era has been rarely used in Japanese documents and the ibus-anthy conversion will be useful. The OSK usability will be enhanced with the mouse.
