Web Ontology for Fedora Applications

Notes for persons who met at Flock 2013 to discuss enabling our web applications for the semantic web.

ontologies

We're thinking about considering these ontologies for these things

Take a look at what is done with rdf at packages.qa.debian.org.

Also, Gnome is using DOAP in their package repositories - https://mail.gnome.org/archives/devel-announce-list/2009-April/msg00007.html

application status

This is a list of all of our applications. We should consider each one and move it to a "we're not going to consider this one" list if it doesn't make sense. For the ones that do make sense we should make notes about what ontologies apply, and what is our current status for enabling them.

To be considered

Name URL Ontologies Status
packages https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/ doap, foaf, admssw
badges https://badges.fedoraproject.org/ foaf *done* - needs to be evaluated for completeness/correctness.
bodhi https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates doap, admssw
wiki https://fedoraproject.org/wiki semantic media wiki plugin?
pkgs https://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/ doap, admssw?
fas https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts foaf? This will require FAS3
askbot https://ask.fedoraproject.org/questions/ annotationType
frontpage https://fedoraproject.org/ doap Because Fedora Project is a "Project"
tagger https://apps.fedoraproject.org/tagger annotations

Started

Name URL Ontologies Status
cnucnu web http://209.132.184.188/cnucnu/project/subsurface/ doap The project pages are done
pkgdb2 http://209.132.184.188/package/aalib/ doap, foaf, admssw The package page has doap meta-tags

Ignore these

Our first look through determined that they were either too hard or didn't make sense.
