Bio

Amit Caleechurn born in 1982 on the paradise island of Mauritius. His first experience with computers started at the age of 11, discovered Linux in 1999 and fell instantly in love. Quickly got accustomed to the basics, followed his first Linux Administration course in 2001, followed shortly by Linux Security, took some months' leave from work in 2007 to complete his RHCE (805007092328507)in India. He completed his RHCSS/RHCDS in 2010 and achieved his RHCA (100-019-744)in 2014. Shortly after completing his RHCE certification he moved to a Next Generation Services Provider. He was previously responsible for assembling & programming slot machines and surveillance equipment, having followed courses in these fields in Singapore, Russia and Ukraine. He currently designs/implements/maintains Open Source Technology in his company ranging from Samba, FreeIPA, Spacewalk, Mail/Web servers to server consolidation using KVM (& Ovirt). He is also a part time lecturer teaching Linux (Red Hat/CentOS & Fedora) Administration to professionals from various companies willing to make the switch. He has been a user of Fedora since Core 1 and admires the work the Fedora community undertakes to bring cutting edge technology to end users. He has written various articles about Linux distributions, Virtualization, Performance Tuning, System Automation, Security and High Availability.
